Is this dog popsicles recipe safe for dogs?

Absolutely! This delightful homemade concoction consists of just two pup-approved ingredients: fresh pineapple and organic coconut oil. Let’s delve into the goodness each brings:

PINEAPPLE

Superfood for Pups:

Pineapple is a canine-friendly superfood celebrated for its sweet taste and numerous health benefits. It includes essential vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and beneficial enzymes, making it a perfect occasional snack for your furry companion.

COCONUT OIL

Health Elixir for Dogs:

Adding coconut oil to your dog’s diet, in moderation, can contribute to various health advantages:

  • Balances the thyroid and aids in weight loss.
  • Possesses natural antiviral, antibacterial, and anti-fungal properties.
  • Hydrates the skin and promotes a glossy coat.
  • Acts as a natural teeth cleaner due to its antimicrobial properties.

While coconut oil is a favorite among dogs, it’s crucial to note that moderation is key. The recommended dosage is around one teaspoon daily (or every few days) per 5kgs/10lbs of body weight.

As always, consult your vet to determine the best dietary choices for your dog’s individual needs.

2 Ingredient Piña colada Dog Popsicles Recipe

What you need:

  • 1 cup of chopped fresh pineapple
  • 1/4 cup of organic coconut oil
  • Blender
  • Silicone moulds (popsicle or bone-shaped)
  • OR ice cube trays (we used round trays)

Instructions:

  • Place chopped pineapple in a blender and blitz until smooth.
  • If needed, melt the coconut oil for 30 seconds and add it to the pineapple. Blitz until well combined.
  • Pour the mixture into molds or ice cube trays.
  • Freeze for 2-3 hours, or until set.

Notes:

  • Use fresh pineapple (not canned) and only the flesh, avoiding the core and hard skin.
  • Experiment with different mold sizes and shapes; smaller options are ideal for first-time pineapple and coconut oil treats.
  • This recipe yields up to 30 frozen treats when using small round molds.

Treat your pup to a taste of the tropics with these simple, homemade delights. Cheers to a happy and cool summer for your furry friend!
